The preseason is over and now FISA is ready to kick it into high gear and let it all hang out. Much of the draft anticipation has softened now that players know what colours they will dawn and who will be signing their cheques.

The highly touted “Jonathan” once thought to be a “Brazilian” star seems to be everything an organization could ask for except he’s not Brazilian. It’s no wonder the Lentil mogul Trougakos jumped on the opportunity to replace Chatzopoulos as his go to guy. Fergie may add some depth but this isn’t basketball or an orchard farm where height works to your benefit. Don’t throw away the baby with the bath water, Chatz is still one of the league favourites for the golden boot and ultimately Trougakos may regret the day he turned his back on him.

Gate 13 comes off a dismal preseason and it’s evident that speed may be a factor but the highly skillful team is bound to mesh and use that to their advantage. But every team has a chink in the chain and this year the disoriented Lazo may be the sand in the sauce. It’s up to the body shop magnet to keep this feisty out of control pontio in line.

Titans this year could surprise in spite of the Vavouleas’ injury. The mortgage baron could really assemble a team of talent and if the preseason is any indication of what’s to come, teams need to pull up their socks if they want to stand a chance.

The Strikers seem to have a well rounded team. Elias has lost some plumpness in his ass region which has revitalized him and returned him to the Elias we remember. Michaels is the FISA all time goal leader but seemed like he was missing a step in the preseason. However, it still appears that Seb has managed to put together consistent teams throughout the years.

All in all, it looks like we are heading into a competitive and fun filled year. The league seems to be nicely balanced but only time will tell.
The league has officially taken a very aggressive social media strategy and has used gorilla marketing tactics to increase league awareness and in an effort to get more bums in the seats. It has also announced that it will take ticket prices down to its inaugural season’s prices to increase tickets sales.
